It lies in the historical region of Lower Carniola. The municipality is now included in the Southeast Slovenia statistical region.〔(Mokronog–Trebelno municipal website )〕 The local church, built above the hamlet of Blečji Vrh in the settlement, is dedicated to Saint Anthony of Padua and belongs to the Parish of Trebelno.
